Gender equality and women's EmpowermentAt CoAlive, we believe in and appreciate how empowered and capacity-built women create stronger families and more resilient societies. CoALive uses different initiatives to equip women, girls, and men with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to become resilient leaders of environment, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and community development. We envisage this initiative and strategies will help everyone in the community build confidence, develop skills, and gain financial independence, enabling them to play a more active role in community development and decision-making. This inclusive, participatory initiative includes:
- Support groups and mentorship by having disaggregated and joint gender-safe spaces where they share experiences, challenges, and ideas, learn from the mentors, and gain confidence and leadership skills.
- Women-led farming and enterprises e.g, kitchen gardens to enhance household nutrition security, sustainable agricultural practices , and agribusiness
- Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) enables the women to make savings as a team, have access to small loans for farming and business, education, and health
