The "Training, Capacity Building, and Knowledge Sharing" thematic area is designed to empower farmers and communities in Lower Eastern Kenya through education and collaboration. We focus on:
• Farmer Sensitization on emerging agricultural policies, transformation, and information through community policy dialogues and round tables, training, and practical learning.
• Participatory Community-Based Monitoring where the local community is actively involved in tracking progress
• Exchange Programs for Horizontal Learning. This is achieved through different categories:
• Peer-to-peer learning among farmer groups
• Experiential Learning opportunities, including International Student Exchange with hands-on learning experience and exposure.
• Programs with Certification enhance skills and enrich the student's experiences.
• Community-Based Information and Resource Centre that supports knowledge and reliable information access that is important for agricultural and community development. The center can provide up-to-date, sustainable agricultural information, weather updates, practical guides on sustainable farming practices, and digital literacy where the farmers can have access to the resources online.
• Cohesive Community Grouping, where we encourage solidarity for sustainable development through the formation of collective and common interest farmer groups, joint and participatory problem-solving, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
